Ne Mosquito Pas 19
The neoliberal ideology that dominates our society is marked by a need to be successful. This need generates more losers than winners. The losers are often made invisible (or they make themselves invisible). In 'Ne mosquito pas' artists reflect on their relationship to success and failure, by working with elements that they experience as "failure" within their own practice. The “deleted scenes”, in the broad sense of the term, form the starting point for a short (solo) performance in which they perform a negative (adapted) 'second-hand' version of their artistic practice, in which a distinction between good and bad taste is declared unusable. The accompanying motto is: "If at first you don’t succeed, failure may be your style" (Quentin Crisp).
