After covering up a murder, Mona, a retired singer from northern Sudan, takes in Julia, the victim's widow from southern Sudan, and her son Daniel. She is afraid to confess her crimes to Julia and wants to put the past behind her. She is unaware of the possibility that the unrest in the country could reach her home and confront her directly with her sins.

A film about two women representing the complicated relationship and differences between North and South Sudanese communities. The story is set in Khartoum during the last years of Sudan as a united country. 

This engaging film was awarded the Freedom Prize, Un Certain Regard at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
