Rockeries and gardens have gone hand in hand for centuries.

Indeed, Brussels has an extraordinary wealth of rock gardens. Whether made of cement and iron, Meuse limestone or petit granit, rockeries have taken on every form and function imaginable. Follies, pavilions, rustic or oriental bridges, mock grottos, dovecotes, giant mushrooms, picturesque imitations of tree trunks or rocks, waterfalls, islands, steps and greenhouses can all be found in public parks, as well as in private gardens.

Here, rockeries are the very soul of this large, picturesque garden. The property dates from 1927 and was originally a large park with winding paths, an orchard, tennis court, pond, waterfall, dovecote and pavilion.
Although divided up in the 1970s, the garden has lost none of its old-world charm, thanks to the beautifully preserved and restored rockeries.
