Dancing Dialogues - 164VANVOLXEM

Dancing Dialogues is a year-long series marking P.A.R.T.S.’ 30th anniversary, spotlighting the schools teachers and their contributions. The series begins during 164VANVOLXEM  with three sessions devoted to theory, inclusivity and repertoire transmission. In each conversation, alumni interview teachers on pedagogy, transmission and how teaching has evolved.

The conversations taking place during 164VANVOLXEM  are as follows:

8th February 2026 - Conversations on theory
Teachers:
Bojana Cvejic, Funmi Adewole and Rudi Laermans
Interviewer:  Stefa Govaart
Theory is an important element in the programme at P.A.R.T.S. In this conversation, we’ll go into the different possible relations between theory and practice, both in the teaching practices of the participants and in their professional practice at large.

12th February 2026 - Conversations on inclusivity
Teachers:
Inge Lattré, Michael Pomero and Stephane Bourhis
Interviewer:
Giulia Sugranyes
Since 2022 P.A.R.T.S. hosts and collaborates with Platform K, who organise dance training and professional creation projects with dancers with disabilities. In this conversation, we’ll look into how this collaboration could become more intense in the future, and what other dimensions to broaden the inclusivity of the school are possible.

19th February 2026 - Conversations on the transmission of repertoire
Teachers:
Clinton Stringer, Diane Madden and Johanne Saunier
Interviewer:
Tessa Hall
Learning from works from the past is an important element in dance education, which P.A.R.T.S. mostly does via the repertoire of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Trisha Brown. How do teachers who pass on works from the past see this job, how do they connect the past with the present and the future, in the school and in other contexts where they do this work?

Each conversation will take place from 18:00-19:30.

Whilst these events are free, we encourage you to register beforehand as capacity is limited.  Once you have registered you will receive a confirmation email and ticket.

We hope you will join us for these stimulating and insightful discussions!
